Self Hypnosis or Autosuggestion ?

Self hypnosis is probably a term that you have heard about and maybe it is something you are not very familiar with. Self hypnosis is becoming very popular and many people are interested to find out more about this. So lets take a look at this subject of self hypnosis.

The definition of self-hypnosis is that it is a naturally state of your mind which can be defined as a heightened state of focused concentration with the willingness to follow instructions.

This willingness is also called autosuggestion. Autosuggestion is used for positive or negative symptoms explained by the thoughts of a person. For example if someone experiences more pain when they think it will hurt. This influence of the mind on the body can be used in a positive way to improve the way a person feels.

Autosuggestion is a process by which someone focuses the subconscious mind to think a certain way for a given purpose. This is accomplished through self-hypnosis. The acceptance of autosuggestion may be quickened through mental visualization. Autosuggestion is most commonly accomplished by presenting ones mind with repetitive thoughts until those thoughts become internalized. Visualizing the manifestations of a belief are typical means of influencing ones mind via repetitive autosuggestion.
Hypnosis is a completely natural state. It is pleasant and relaxing. The ancient method of hypnosis is more and more used in medicine where it has proved to be a valuable alternative to drugs. Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years to effectively speed up healing and relieve stress symptoms.

The act of inducing hypnosis is referred to as an induction procedure. There is no consensus among practitioners or researchers for which method is the most effective induction procedure. Many associate hypnotic induction with a swinging pendulum, but there are many usable techniques.

Most commonly the hypnotist will use calming techniques designed to relax the subject by suggesting that their limbs are going limp, eyelids are getting heavy and so on. Relaxation is not a key factor, however, as hypnosis can be induced during vigorous exercise.

Also there are great differences in length of an induction. On one side you have PR (Progressive Relaxation), which can take up to half an hour or more. Then the other method is RI (Rapid Induction), a method to induce hypnosis in just seconds by a combination of shocking the subject and the subjects anticipation. For a stage hypnotist using RI is absolutely necessary, as using PR in a show would take more time than the audience is willing to wait.

Hypnotic susceptibility is a measurable amount of responsiveness that one can have to hypnosis. Not all people can be hypnotized, but about 10% of people respond exceptionally well. There is little evidence linking susceptibility to intelligence or personality traits, but some research has linked hypnosis to the amount of absorption and imagination in subjects.

Recent research suggests that highly hypnotizable people have high sensory and perceptual gating abilities that allow them to block some stimuli from awareness.

There is a common claim that no one can be hypnotized against his will. The counter-claim given by many hypnotists is that while it is not possible make someone do anything against his will, it is possible to change what it is that he wishes to do. This lowering in inhibitions is called disinhibition and can sometimes be found in the hypnotized subject and leads him to performing acts that he would normally consider socially unacceptable or simply would not do otherwise.

Hypnosis Mind Control Stories

Hypnosis is tapping into a person's subconscious in order for him to do whatever you want him to do. The subconscious is the deepest reserves of one's thoughts, emotions, and aspirations. In order to manipulate people through hypnosis, you need to connect with a person's subconscious in a deep. The best way to do that is using hypnosis mind control stories.

The aim of the hypnotic mind control is not to brainwash a person because the fact is that you cannot force anyone to do anything. The idea is to use the hypnotic state to change the person's mind and bring them around to your way of thinking very quickly.

Mind control has been used for a long time in various fields, ranging from medical science to warfare. A person needs to know the techniques properly before using those on another person. A person at first needs to master the skills required for controlling his own mind. Then he should think of applying mind control on others. Just like any other potent tool, these techniques are used by some people wrongly or maliciously.
The first step in hypnosis mind control is to gain a strong rapport with your subject. You need to think about the kind of relationship you have with your family and friends and ask yourself how you might gain that kind of rapport quickly with a stranger. This is easy once you get the hang of it and usually means just listening very warmly to what they are saying and laughing at their jokes.

Mind control techniques are disguised in many ways. One of their disguises is the favor bank where you do someone a favor with plans of soliciting help from that same person sometime in the future. People who owe you a favor won't be able to ignore your wishes that easily. This is one of the reasons why it's so important not to burn bridges.

If you want to get people to do what you want, you must know what they like and what they don't like. Use this knowledge to your advantage through the reward and punishment system. Mothers are quite adept at this tactic. If they want their kid to do better in school, for example, they'll tell their kid that a present awaits them if they show significant improvement in academics. If they get failing grades, there is a corresponding punishment usually in the form of grounding or taking away of toys.

You may think hypnotic mind control is something for stage acts or people with major neuroses. You can use hypnotic mind control to become the powerful and influential person you've always wanted to be. Be sure you follow one of the links below to find out how.

God And Self Hypnosis - Shaken Or Stirred?

Does the practice of self hypnosis open you to demonic obsession or possession? Is it a substitute for prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit? Is there any value in it for religious people?

Many religious people are misinformed about self hypnosis. Here's an example. A devout Christian friend of mine said she didn't need hypnosis because she had prayer and the Holy Spirit to solve her problems. She thought that as a clinical hypnotherapist I would now substitute hypnosis for prayer - or even deny the power of the Divine. She disapproved of it so much, she tossed it off and compared it to Ouija board use. She just thought self hypnosis and God could not coexist.

Hypnosis: The Caricature and the Truth

That caricature of hypnosis still persists in the minds of many religious and nonreligious people. Here's the truth:

* Hypnosis, hypnotherapy and self hypnosis have wide acceptance in the medical community (the proliferation of hypnosis-related science articles and books throughout the world strongly highlight how how relevant it is).

* Hypnosis will not "take over your mind." It's simply a focusing of your mind's attention to create positive change.

* It's not supernatural.

* It's not mind control. You'll have full awareness during the entire procedure in the vast majority of cases. With self hypnosis the person can do the inductions and suggestions all by herself.

When pressed about their knowledge of hypnosis and where their objections come from, some religious people become vague and circular in their smoke-filled arguments. Many have never experienced it or researched it. And instead of searching for the clear substantive evidence, they protect their religious faiths with dogma and salve their egos with emotion-filled hearsay. (Of course modern scientific hypnotherapy didn't exist when the sacred scriptures of the world religions were penned.)

Do God and Hypnosis Mix?

As a man with a strong faith and connection with the Divine, I can tell you self hypnosis and God can coexist. Many of my feelings about my morality-based habits and challenges have been improved by using hypnosis-related techniques.

You've heard the expression "God helps those who help themselves." Since hypnosis is used as a tool for change by millions, hasn't God provided it so we could reach for and then maintain our goals? For more than five decades modern hypnosis has helped psychiatrists cure the mentally ill, medical doctors alleviate pain and the rest of us reduce our stress and overcome bad habits.

So, When Does Hypnosis Need the Help of Spirit?

There are times when no amount of hypnosis can surmount some problems. That's when I turn to spiritual practices like prayer. And what a powerful combination prayer and hypnosis can make!

Both have a lot in common. When we pray deeply and earnestly we enter into an altered state of consciousness identical to certain levels of trance with self hypnosis. But here's the difference: with prayer we hope to open up the line of communication with the Divine and invoke assistance -- whether for ourselves or for others.

Demonic Possession vs. The Hypnotic State

The idea that hypnosis could relegate a mentally healthy person to demonic obsessions or possessions could come from the fear that because we are unconscious in the hypnotic state certain forces could take us over. But... we remain completely aware, awake and in control (morally) during hypnosis. So we needn't fear that invisible entities will gain entry to our souls.

I've been practicing self hypnosis and clinical hypnotherapy since 1996 and I haven't seen anything which hints at aligning with the demonic. Hypnosis makes my prayer life more effective and full of wonder. (More in a future article.)

In Summary

Self hypnosis should be seen as a gift from above. It's a simple and effective way to work on our challenges -- not a replacement for prayer or connection with the Divine. It can really work with the tools of spirit to help make each of us become our best. Isn't that what the Divine wants?

Self hypnosis and God don't only coexist; they both can expand our wonder and alignment with the universe.

Best Sharpie or Pen to Use to Get An Autograph

Wondering about the best pen to use for getting an autograph? Well, it all depends on the kind of autograph that you intend to get. After all, different surfaces would require different ink types that in order to stick and not end up bleeding or fading after a while. Autographs are meant to be lifelong souvenirs and as such, they must stand the test of time. The only real way that you can guarantee this is if you make use of the right ink for the specific item that you're getting signed. Shall we take at a few of the most common ones and what kind of pen you ought to use for them?

Jerseys - It would be best if you get them to sign right on the number as it is white and has the perfect texture for either a black or silver sharpie. Most autograph enthusiasts would tell you that a blue sharpie tends to fade.

Magazines - For this, a sharpie with either a fine or medium sized point would do very well. The color is all up to you but of course, it has to be visible.

Baseballs - Any point of pen would do and the darker the color, the better. However, experts do believe that for this purpose, blue is certainly a better color.

Basketballs - Black is the color of choice for this purpose. A sharpie would also be preferred but make sure that you use one that doesn't have the chisel edge because the celebrity or the athlete would need to hold it a proper way. A silver colored pen would also be okay if you want it to appear a bit flashier.

Baseball Bats - A black sharpie would always look good when used on baseball bats but you also have the option of using silver colored one. It all depends upon your preference and the visibility of the signature itself against its background.

So there you have it, just a few tips that should help you get the most out of your autographs. Remember, opportunities such as these present themselves ever so rarely and as such, you would want to make the most of them. Good luck!

Hypnosis Self Improvement

The Reason Why Meditation Doesn't Work

The title of this article may seem a little strange. How can I say meditation does not work when there is a vast amount of research which seems to show that it does?

Much research, in the scientific field, points to the fact that meditation can; make you healthier (both emotionally and physically), make you look younger, bolster the immune system, help you recover faster after operations, reduce stress, help you to live longer, remove past emotional issues and alter negative beliefs.

So how can I say that meditation does not work?

I can say this not because meditation never works but, unfortunately, because meditation does not work for the vast majority of us! Why is this?

Well the answer to the question "why does mediation not work?" is simple!

Meditation doesn't work for most of us because they haven't spent many, many years learning how to do it and practising it! If you have ever tried to meditate then you know just how difficult it can be. Just relaxing your body can prove to be a challenge. You get itchy, want to move about and feel restless. If you were successful in the initial stages of meditation and managed to relax yourself completely, you then must still the mind or remain focused on on ethought for the duration. It just seems like a constant uphill struggle.

So, is there a way to gain all the benefits of meditation without the drawbacks? The answer is a "Yes"!

By using binaural beats, which cause a phenomenom known as brain entrainment, you can experience deep states of meditation with no effort at all.

In 1839 a discovery in sound technology was to later revolutionize the scientific world when a German professor discovered binaural beats. When a tone is sent to one ear and another tone that is almost the same, but differs slightly in frequency, is sent to the other ear a strange thing happens. The two tones, when mixed together in the brain, create the illusion of binaural beats. These beats force the brain to produce brainwaves at very specific frequencies.

Even though the existence of binaural beats was known in the 1800s it was not until 1973 that Dr. Gerald Oster discovered how they could affect the brain of the listener. Oster learned that when these binaural beats are used in specific ways different brain states can be induced.

The significance of how these binaural beats work becomes really interesting when we look at some experiments that were conducted using very experienced meditators and EEG machines which measure brainwave activity. It was found that during deep states of meditation these people displayed Alpha, Theta and even Delta brainwaves. These brainwave states have corresponding physical states associated with them.

Oster found that using binaural beats he could induce the Alpha, Theta and Delta brainwaves states at will! When binaural beats, that were created at an aplha frequency, were played the listener began to display alpha brainwaves. The same was true for Theta and Delta. As these brainwave states are induced, through binaural beats, the corresponding physical state is also induced.

Therefore, through the use of binaural beats, it is now possible to duplicate the mental and physical effects of deep meditation. To take advantage of the power of meditation all you need to do is sit or lie down, close your eyes, pop on your headphones and turn on your binaural beats recording!

So, if you are one of the majority of people who cannot make meditation work, then simply use some binaural beats and save yourself at least a decade of practise!

Hypnosis Associations

Association & Disassociation

Associated & Disassociated - using NLP to handle inter personal paradigms

This guy in HR was transferred from our regional office to corporate office couple of months back to s 00004000 upport me in the HR - Operations.

Manoj was a very conscientious professional thorough with his data compilation and analysis. In many respects he filled in my inadequacy .I am quite poor with figures - no pun meant here!!!

Jokes apart, he was like my Man Friday ready with the inputs especially during my HR review with the units and the regions.

And then just a few days back he called me up saying "Boss I want to talk to you "

I knew what conventionally comes through after such short conversation and when we met during the tea break he announced the breaking news "I want to go ". What followed were those quite a bit of back and forth on what, why, how and a host of questions from me and unanswered silence from his end.

After an hour long ordeal, I finally concluded "Ok you want to go, fine with me, but I cannot relieve you earlier to 2 months. You just can't walk out in 10days time "

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next few days, I was seething with anger the typical manifestation off frustration and helplessness and was quite pissed off with him. My irritation was more obvious with my body language.

I avoided making any conversation with him and every time he said ""please can you relieve me so that I can join the new organization" I was just not even listening to him much less responding

This went on for a few days till during one of our mono syllabus conversation he mumbled "this is what I get after 8 years of service to this organization "

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That set me thinking and in the course of the day I went across to his desk and said "Manoj, can we meet over a coffee at Coffee day?". He was too pleased and we met and chatted.

It was over 3 hours; coffee sandwiches and again coffee, we lost count.

I was listening to his life journey in the organization his struggle, challenges, and his exalted moments when he got those merit certificates and awards and promotions.

That was a great feeling to get myself empathetically associated with his life journey. More than this, what I also experienced was the unconscious way this association created my disassociation with the recent events - his resignation and his hurry to move on to the next assignment.

Even as he talking to me, I felt bad about my angry reaction to his resignation and more about my 'no mercy and by the book approach of 2 months notice pay "

Here I was conveniently getting associated with the recent events of his decision to quit the organization and wanting to go soon rather than connecting with his long and meritorious service to the organization.

I could experience the switch that was happening: from anger to empathy, from indifference to concern and from self centered mindset to more humane and professional perspective.

When this paradigm of association shifted, my stand too shifted from stiffness to softness

I opened my eyes of understanding

As we got up and I paid the bill, I said "Manoj, how long you think you can stay back a..When do you need to join the new company "

He said "I will be happy if I can be relieved by the end of the month "

We shook hands calling it a 'done deal 'and also wishing each other well

Stop Being Scared

Woman ScaredStop Being Scared

By: Jawface , Jawface.com

If you really want to do something, you will always find a way. However, if you do not want to do it, you will find an excuse.

The easiest way to combat fear is by not using excuses. Instead, you need to look for positive approaches to accomplish your goal. If you want to start a business, attend a meeting at the Better Business Bureau. Read some national magazines like "Income Opportunities" or "Entrepreneur." Start reading the business section of your newspaper. Gather some ideas and do a little reading before actually jumping into a business. Surely, you can find some spare time to read.

Also, begin associating yourself with people who are in their own business already. If you are afraid to go out and make new friends, attend local business-related seminars in your community. Start watching television shows that are related to business. You will eventually find people to associate with who know others and you will be the part of a new crowd - the motivating ones!

Fear is always your enemy. Look at it this way: If you never try, Fear wins by 100%. However, if you do try, Fear only has a chance of winning by 50%. If you needed a place to live and only had $10 to your name would you allow Fear to win and make you homeless? No, most of us would find a job or borrow the money to have a roof over our heads! Fear is the root of failure, depression and lifelong problems. Are you going to let Fear ruin your life?

Fear also will cause you to miss many other things in life. If you Fear the boss at work is going to fire you, it will naturally be on your mind day in and day out. It will eventually wear you down and you will begin making mistakes on the job. You will also get depressed and build up resentments that may have never been there in the first place.

Facing Fear head on is the best way to combat it. If you think the boss is going to fire you, go up and ask him. It takes guts, but is it better than putting yourself through many months of agonizing torture? Are you full of so much Fear to ask him if you think it will trigger him to say "yes" when he might not have been considering it at all? Believe me, asking a boss "if" they are thinking about firing you will put you in no different position than you are now. In fact, it will have the opposite effect. The boss will more than likely respect you for your candidness and ability to face Fear head-on.

Is Fear holding you back from many things? Are you afraid to confront people and tell them how you really feel? Do you smile in their face and talk about them behind their back? What is so hard about being truthful but using tact? You can get rid of Fear and solve many problems.

Complaining is also an act that emotionally drains you and goes hand-in-hand with Fear. In fact, Fear is normally the root of any complaint. People do not want to admit their Fear so they will complain to release some tension. This is a crazy merry-go-round! Instead of complaining, try to find ways to solve the problem.

Fear comes in many forms. No matter what form, there has to be an effort to combat it. It is hard to look back on life and think of what you could have accomplished, but was too scared to do anything about it. The real fear is to live a life with nothing to show. We are our own enemies, because we let fear get in the way of success. Change your life today by not being scared to live.

Hypnosis Facts

Hypnosis: Fact and Fiction | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Can Hypnosis Be Dangerous?

Hypnosis is not a dangerous procedure in itself, but complications may occur as the result of faulty technique on the part of the hypnotist, or from misperceptions on the part of the hypnotized person. The topic is a vast one. In terms of technical errors by the hypnotist, there is the occasional report of a hypnotized person failing to emerge from a trance. There are various ways of resolving this difficulty, but in a safe environment, the worst that can happen is that the hypnotized person finishes up having a prolonged sleep.

Sometimes, hypnotic age regression may elicit traumatic memories of past events (which may or may not have happened); again, there exist straightforward procedures for relieving the painful emotion of such memories, regardless of whether they are based upon fact or fantasy. Further, there are data that show that the failure to cancel or remove a suggestion after it has been administered and tested in trance may lead to its post-hypnotic persistence. The simple remedy for this problem is for the hypnotist to be meticulous in canceling suggestions (unless the suggestion is a therapeutic one designed to persist into the post-hypnosis period; for instance, that following hypnosis, the patient will feel better and will function better).
A further area where care is required is in treating clinical pain with hypnosis. Before embarking upon such a treatment, it is important that the patient undergoes a neurological examination to ensure that the pain is not the product of an undiagnosed, organic origin. For example, there are a few cases in which a patient's headaches were treated by hypnosis before it was recognized that it resulted from an unsuspected brain tumor. Although hypnosis was effective in masking the pain in these cases, the appropriate treatment was surgery. Of course, once the correct diagnosis has been made in such cases, hypnosis might well be an appropriate means of reducing the pain during the waiting period for the scheduled operation.

On the other hand, many of the complications that can occur with hypnosis stem from the hypnotized person's perceptions of it. Most of them can be avoided by questioning the person carefully during the pre-hypnosis period about his/her knowledge and beliefs about hypnosis. Beliefs such as that the hypnotized person is an automaton, unable to resist any suggestion that is administered, or that the person may not be able to terminate trance, can best be met with factual knowledge, or even the invitation to resist a particular item during hypnosis.

Again, the belief that post-hypnotic amnesia is permanent (to the extent that the person is unable to remember any of the events of hypnosis) can be defused by explaining that amnesia is reversible, and that when the amnesia suggestion is administered, a post hypnotic cue ("now you can remember everything") will be given so as to relieve the amnesia. On some occasions, also, when an affect-laden memory is elicited, the operator may place the onus upon the hypnotized person to decide how much, if any, of the traumatic material s/he wishes to recall.

It should be emphasized that this section is a distillation of cases of misused hypnosis reported over more than 200 years. Even allowing for the likelihood that such misuses are under-reported, one is left with the impression that, overall, most practitioners of hypnosis during this lengthy time span have been ethical and competent in their utilization of it. By contrast, with the widespread belief in the necessity for excavating memories of childhood sexual abuse, there has been a spectacular increase in the use of dangerous practices in which hypnosis plays a central role. A detailed case report may help to crystallize how a procedure that is safe in competent hands can become one that is harmful to patients.

An Introduction to Hypnosis Scripts

Have you heard of hypnosis scripts? There are so many of these available but you need to know which resources are reliable when learning an art such as hypnosis.

Scripts are the best way to learn the basic fundamentals of any interactive process and then after you master them you can start to add your own style. So where should you start with your hypnosis learning?

What is a hypnosis script?

They are questions, suggestions or phrases that are written down in a chronological order that has been proven to work. These scripts are not only used for hypnosis but also in sales and retail situations also. Every reputable sales company uses sales scripts because the questions and responses have been heavily researched to be effective when it comes to influencing people. Hypnosis scripts work off exactly the same principle and have proven results.

Hypnosis induction scripts

These are the best to start with because the hypnotic induction is the beginning of establishing a connection with your subject and is usually the most difficult part to get right. People react differently to certain induction methods whether they are visual, audio or kinesthetic therefore it helps to have an induction hypnosis script that gives you an idea of what their initial reactions mean and the best path to follow.

Self hypnosis scripts

These are great to use once you understand (neuro-linguistic programming) NLP hypnosis theories. If you are looking at weight loss hypnosis or smoking hypnosis then self hypnosis scripts are what you should be using. In order to reprogram your association of stress to eating or smoking it is essential that you follow a self hypnosis script on a regular basis. Having the script as a hard copy (instead of remembering to do it) will make it easier to be motivated to go over the process of your recovery.

About the author: Using the right Hypnosis Script
There are many options as mentioned before but if you want a resource that is reliable I would recommend looking at this Hypnosis Website. All the best with your hypnosis learning.
