I have a BS degree and credits towards a MS, how can I become an Adjunct Faculty-Psych.at a community college?
My degree is in psychology and I have 30credit hours towards a MS degree in Counseling Psychology. I applied at a community college on line and since I do not have a MS degree, the system automatically disqualifies me. I am going back to college to complete my masters in Jan. Does anyone have any suggestions??
Make it clear that you are in the process of meeting their requirements and ask for a temporary waiver, pending your completion of your MS degree within a reasonable timeline. Can I apply MS degree in psychology directly with a BA in social work?

I believe you can apply without a conversion course. To be on the safe side, I would talk to the psychology admissions department of the school(s) you are interested in. They will be the best source of information for you. Also, double check the admission requirements for the school(s), many require that you take the Psychology GRE subject test in addition to the GRE.
How valuable is an Associates Degree in Psychology?
Im graduating with an Assiociates dergree of science degree in psychology in December, and I still plan on continuing my education until i get my BS then MS degree. I just want to know how valuable an assciates degree in Psychology is. Does it show me that I know something about psychology or just a title that connotes a “wanna be Psychology Major?
Honestly, its not worth much. I have a B.S. in Psych and one of my profs called us “the future unemployed of America.”
Which degree MS Clinical Psychology or MS Occupational Therapy?
I am trying to decide between these two choices. They are both interesting and schooling will be more expensive for OT. Who has the following degrees and works in the fields? Where? and what is job satisfaction like? Which one is a better choice to work well into retirement age.

…..With an MS in clinical psychology, you won’t get to serve as a clinical psychologist. You will get to work FOR a clinical psychologist (requires a Ph.D.)
But if you have an MS in OT, you’ll get to practice OT.
Something to consider, right? But the main thing is, choose a career that you passionately care about.
What is the difference between an MA degree and an MS degree for the Psychology field?
I know that MA is master of arts, and that MS is master of science, but what difference does it make as far as getting a job after you have your degree? I ultimately want to get into counseling, and so I am looking at graduate schools now. The school that I want to go to only offers an MA degree, but I’ve heard that an MS is better, but I don’t really know why. Can anyone help me to understand this better? Thanks in advance!
This is an interesting question. My son is currently in college, and despite the fact he is majoring in film, he will be earning a BS degree. Why? Because the university requires foreign language to earn a BA! He is learning disabled in a way that learning a foreign language would be impossible for him.
Another data point, I attended a liberal arts college, and despite having a double major in Math and Astronomy, I earned a BA, since that was all the college offered at that time. The degree has not affected my job prospects.
My advice to you is to talk to someone at the career office at either the school you attend, or the one you want to attend, and ask them this question – they should have a feel for if this affects jobs in counseling. I suspect not, but it is better to ask the question and get an answer than assume everything is fine and find out later it is a problem!
